Selective oxidation of propylamine to propionitrile and propionaldehyde on oxygen-covered gold.

چکیده
Oxidative dehydrogenation of amines using heterogeneous gold catalysts has unanticipated potential; chemisorbed atomic oxygen is used to activate propylamine, producing propionitrile and/or propionaldehyde on a single-crystal Au(111) surface.

Low-Temperature Chemoselective Gold-Surface-Mediated Hydrogenation of Acetone and Propionaldehyde
Since nanoscale gold was first discovered to be catalytically active, gold-based catalysts have been studied both theoretically and experimentally in a wide range of reactions. These catalysts exhibit high activity for hydrogenation processes, in particular showing enhanced selectivity. However, there is a lack of relevant fundamental studies into these processes. Conducting hydrogenation react...
متن کاملSelective Oxidation of Xylenes to Toluic Acids
A mixture of manganese, cobalt and lead para-amino benzoates supported on silica gel is used to catalyze oxidation of xylenes to toluic acids in presence of oxygen or air. Reactions are clean and catalysts can be recovered easily and reused.

A binuclear macrocyclic ligand containing dissimilar N(amine)2O2 and N(imine)2O2 coordination sites sharing two phenolic oxygen atoms, was prepared by cyclic condensation of dialdehyde precursor L1H2 with 1,3-diaminopropane. The ligand includes two propionitrile pendant arms on the amine nitrogen atoms. The homobimetallic com...
متن کاملSelective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides by a vanadium-based catalyst using 30% hydrogen peroxide
The vanadium-based catalyst, acts as a homogeneous catalyst for the selective oxidation of various kinds of sulfides with 30% aqueous H2O2. Vanadium-based catalyst was successfully used as the oxygen source for the oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides for the first time. The sulfoxides were obtained in a good way to high yields without any detectable over-oxidation to sulfones under normal condi...
